Ted Stephens 1949 - 2013

Ted Stephens, the founder and previous owner of Optimus sadly passed away on Friday 31st May 2013, losing his brave battle against cancer. Ted’s life touched so many people; family, friends and work colleagues leaving a lasting imprint on all our hearts.
Ted remained as a hugely respected advisor to Optimus after the Management Buy Out in 2007 and with his vision and continuing passion for the Printing Industry, his knowledge and advice was invaluable.
Everyone at Optimus will miss Ted and his unique perspective on life in general; and in continuing to run a modern day printing business – Optichrome Ltd.
Ted was a loving husband to his wife Christine; a fantastic father to their 4 children, Natalie, Hannah, Verity and Adam; a doting grandfather to Corban, Lily, Brayden, Tegan and Eden, and faithful friend to many.
He was born on 12th March 1949 at Putney Hospital to Dorothy and Ken Stephens. The family, including Ted’s older sister Jenny and younger sister Sue and his brother Norman, moved to the Woking area in 1968. Ted married Christine in October 1973 and they lived for 13 years in Woking, moving their young family to Bisley in 1986.
Ted’s father, Ken, founded Optichrome Print Ltd in 1963 with Ted joining the company full time in 1970, when there were only 6 staff. This followed 3 years study of Graphic Reproduction and Lithographic Printing Processes at Twickenham College of Technology and 2 years Higher National Diploma in Business Studies at Slough College of Technology.
The funeral will be held on Friday 14th June at eleven am at:
