The Cloud Suite of modules will be Optimus’ first cloud-based software to hit the international market. The new modules will have the capability to be readily integrated into the UK-based company’s existing Dash and 2020 MIS products, of which Colorpak is the largest Australian user.

The company claims the Cloud Suite range of modules is designed to combat issues faced by print providers who use traditional online ordering tools, and includes the capabilities for automated production of fast quotations and automatic receipt of orders.

Nicola Bisset (pictured), Optimus’ managing director, says the cloud-based system was designed with online print providers in mind. “Optimus Cloud is unique in being the complete solution for an integrated online trading experience,” she says.

Bisset believes the printing industry is entering an era in which automation will be the name of the game and expects the new software to help print providers cut costs through streamlining and automation.

“We are entering a new age, whereby a seamless and intuitive approach to simplifying and automating print purchasing…is increasingly being considered by print buyers as mandatory, not optional,” she says.

While the Cloud Suite is not the first web-based MIS service to enter the local industry, with Hexicom Software’s online ePrint MIS system already entrenched in the Australian market, the potential for integration with Optimus’ existing range of products will no doubt be an incentive for the printers already using the company’s software.

The Cloud Suite of modules will officially be launched at FESPA in Barcelona next month.
